AP students eligible for only AIEEE...
Central government was planning to merge AIEEE and AIPMT from the next academic year to reduce pressure on students. Common exam would test the general awareness and aptitude of students. But the decision to merge the AIEEE and the AIPMT being conducted by CBSE would not affect Andhra Pradesh students. Andhra Pradesh students not eligible to appear for AIPMT since the A.P state government does not offer any seats to 'national pool'. But nearly 1 lakh students from AP appear every year for AIEEE that is held for admissions into National Institutes of Technology.
Even after the merger, they will continue to be eligible for only AIEEE as they will not be allowed to appear for medical stream exam since A.P state government are not part of national pool.
Once the AIEEE and AIPMT are merged, the physics and chemistry exams will be common for both. Medical students can answer the biology paper while the engineering students can answer the mathematics paper.
The HRD ministry is also working towards evolving a system to give weight to the marks scored by students in Class-XII and marks secured by them in the entrance examination.(News source: Deccan Chronicle)

This year Eamcet Ranks are likely to be given in the last week of July...
EAMCET 2010 results announced, students know their scores and aware of the marks they scored in Inter and EAMCET exam. Students can now calculate the marks they would get after combining 25 per cent Inter weightage and marks scored in EAMCET. The method that is used to markscalculate the weightage marks scored in 3 subjects of EAMCET would be calculate for 75 per cent and they would be added to the 25 per cent equivalent of the marks scored in the group subjects.
If a student scores 140 marks out of 160 in EAMCET, his marks would be obtained by dividing 140 with 160 and then multiplying the result with 75 to get the marks. It would come to 65.625 marks.
Same calculation will used to get the 25% weightage of Inter. If score 560 in inter get around 23.333 some thing to 25. The both marks 65.625+23.333 will be added to get the final rank, Ranks allotted based on that figure in the descending order.
In case of a same marks, the comparison for a better rank would be arrived at by first considering the total marks in EAMCET and if they are also equal, marks scored in mathematics or biology would be the next consideration.
If there is a same again, marks scored in physics in EAMCET would come into picture and even if they are equal, the total marks obtained in the Intermediate examination would be considered.
If still a same, date of birth of the candidate would be considered and the older one would get preference. Everyone would be given a separate rank with this method.
Marks obtained in the advanced supplementary examinations of Intermediate would also be considered. The final rank will be given using the marks obtained in the advanced supplementary examinations.
